Donnie Kehr grew up in New York City. The son of musician, Harry Kehr and ballerina, Dolores E. Kehr. Donnie found his voice as a singer/songwriter and actor at a very young age. This classically trained performer, made his Broadway debut at age twelve in “LEGEND”, a play starring F. Murray Abraham. Other Broadway credits followed such as “THE HUMAN COMEDY”, produced by the legendary Joseph Papp. He created the role of Robert Bascomb in “THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD” for the New York Shakespeare Festival. He was the original pinball lad in “The Who’s TOMMY”, winner of five Tony Awards and a Grammy Award for best theatrical recording, produced by Sir George Martin. In 2003 he co-starred with Toni Braxton in Elton John and Tim Rice’s, “AIDA” on Broadway. Currently, Donnie is performing in the smash Broadway hit "JERSEY BOYS" at the August Wilson Theatre.

As a musician, along with his brothers, Michael and Steven, Donnie co-founded the band “URGENT” on EMI-MANHATTAN Records in the late 1980s. As a collaborative songwriter and lead singer of the band, they reached the top 100 on Billboard’s pop charts.

Donnie also released a 2005 solo CD entitled "SHIFT". The singer/songwriter composed ten original songs that feed the heart and rock the soul. His vocal style is undeniable and his songs stay with you. Now available at CD Baby.com
